The Ecostar Awards recognize outstanding environmental achievements and leadership on Vancouver Island. The awards are presented to island based businesses, non-profits, academia, governments and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in sustainability.

In light of the BC Restart Plan announced this spring, we are excited to say that we will be hosting the 2021 Ecostar Awards as an in-person event this fall! With economies reopening, now is the time to strengthen the network of green businesses and look for ways we can become more resilient through environmental practices, operational cost saving and innovation. If you are looking for ways to green your business check out the Vancouver Island Green Business Collective online.

We look forward to learning about your new sustainable initiatives and hosting you at our Ecostar Awards Gala this fall!

The Physical Awards

Inspired by Project Zero we decided last year to make the Ecostar Awards using 100% waste materials. We wanted to showcase what is possible when we shift towards a circular economy and begin to identify waste materials as a resource.

For a second year we will be partnering with ChopValue and Travtron 3D Printing to create our awards.

2021 Awards Gala

After much deliberation and thoughtful consideration of BC’s restart plan, we have decided to move forward with hosting this year’s gala in person! The event will take place at the Inn at Laurel Point on the evening of November 10th.

Due to capacity limitations, tickets to the general public will not be available this year. We hope to welcome many more of you back to the event in 2022.

Our 2021 Finalists

Congratulations to those nominated as our finalists this year from across Vancouver Island! Winners will be announced at the Ecostar Awards Gala in November.
